Red Fort Delhi
Red fort in Delhi is a historic fort that served as residence of Mughals. Red fort was constructed by Shah Jahan in 1638 when he was shifting his capital from Agra to Delhi. It was built by using Red and White sandstone walls and marbles and designed by Ustad Ahmad Lahori (architect) the same architect who have also designed Taj Mahal.
Style of Architecture is Indo- Islamic, Mughal. This Fort was used by Mughal empire from 1638 to 1857, then British Empire 1857 to 1947 and now Government of India from 1947 to present. It is one of the important place in Delhi to visit. There are several markets nearby to Red fort. Major structures of Red fort are Lahori Gate which is named due to its orientation towards Lahor city, Delhi Gate, Chhata Chowk, Naubat Khana, Mumtaj Mahal, Nahr-i-Bihisht, Diwan-i-Khas, Baoli, Moti masjid, Hammam (imperial bath), Moti Masjid, Hira Mahal etc.
The Qutub minar also spoied as qutb Minar is basically a victory tower which is 73 Meters or 239 feet tall and there is also final fifth section was added around 1369. It is located in Mahrauli area of Delhi and a part of Qutb complex, it is also UNESCO World Heritage site.
Lotus Temple in Delhi is one of the most visited buildings in the world before few years. It is an art of architecture and designed by Fariborz Sahba (architecture) and completed in 1986. It is basically a Baha i House of worship which dedicated in Dec 1986. It has a capacity of 2500 people at one time, there are total 9 sides and 9 doors opening to central hall. Total height of central hall is 34.26 meters (or maybe 34.27m). It is featured in many magazine and newspaper articles like CNN etc.
It is formerly viceroys, now Official residence of President of India which is located at the end of Rajpath in Delhi. Rashtrapathi have 340 rooms including reception halls, offices, guest rooms or mansion. It is also one of the main attraction for tourists but people can see the palace from outside. It is open only for few time during the Mughal garden from Feb 5 to March 5 having beautiful species of flowers, and also beautiful fountains.
Rajghat is a memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. It is located at the west bank of the Yamuna river. Here the last rites in 1948, 31st January performed by Mahatma Gandhi. This is one of the important place of attraction.
Apart from all of this there are so many Important place you have to visit in Delhi like Jama Masjid, Akshardham Temple, Shri Laxmi Narayn Temple, Old Delhi city walk, Lodhi garden, Purana Qila, Delhi Zoological park, Chandani chow famous for shopping and food, Complex of Qutub Minar, Janatar Mantar (Ancient clock), Gurudwara of Sri Bangla Sahib, National museum etc.
